//outofmiyu: This is more of an OOC rambling rather than Miyuki voicing her thoughts…Well, it’s a bit of both, really. It’s sorta like me projecting my mind into her body-ish. Ignore it, I was half-asleep when I wrote it. >.>
Lately, Miyuki had been thinking a lot about succession. In just four days, she would’ve been part of AKB0048 for two months…One of the minimum requirements to succeed. Nevertheless, she wasn’t sure whether she was ready to succeed anyone or not - she felt like she still hadn’t lived up to the name she wanted. Perhaps it would take another week, another month…
Of course, the first person she wanted to succeed was Matsui Jurina. Noone had ever succeeded SKE48’s legenedary ace before, but Miyuki was determined to be the first. But what could she do, if she wasn’t even radiant enough yet to have her own kirara? Sure, she had finally noticed the little trickster that was following her around occasionally…But after close inspection, she had realised it was her aunt’s kirara from back when she was a part of 0048. Which meant that Miyuki had yet to get her own. She sighed. Tochi’s way ahead of the rest of us, isn’t she? She’s already got her own kirara…She’ll probably be the first to succeed out of us.
Going back to the thoughts on Jurina…Miyuki had been certain that she wanted to succeed Jurina back when she had first joined 0048. After years and years of studying AKB history, analysing all the moves of every single member that passed through, Miyuki had realised that even if she fell in love with the successors, none could replace Jurina in her heart as her oshimen. But that was where she wavered now - was Jurina just her oshimen? Someone to look up to, someone she admired and loved? Even if she had spent her entire life unconsciously modelling her own actions and personality after Jurina’s, this had been the first time that she had had doubts about it. Was she just that - an idol who Miyuki had modeled herself after? Did they really have the same heart, something that was required for succession? Miyuki had no idea how to answer that.
And what about other members? Miyuki had always held admiration for the original Yuko, Mariko, Sae, Sayaka, and their successors…But all those names were currently taken. Matsui Rena? Miyuki shook her head. She wanted to succeed Jurina - she couldn’t just turn to Rena just because she failed with the former. After all, if her heart couldn’t match Jurina’s…What chance did it have of matching Rena’s, who was like an older sister to Jurina? Miyuki knew for sure that despite her age, she wasn’t mature enough to succeed someone like Rena. That was for people like Chieri.
Umechan, perhaps? She was an outstanding dancer and Miyuki was certain that she had a fierce will - after all, the original managed to get back up and become the captain of Team B despite breaking her leg. Nevertheless, Miyuki shot that idea down almost immediately - once again, she wasn’t sure if her heart matched that of Umechan. Yukirin? Miyuki smiled to herself. The original, as well as her successors, had all been the queen of reactions in AKB - they had never failed to amuse. But Miyuki wasn’t sure if her relationship with Mayuyu MK3 was quite up to the standard yet where the original Mayuyu and Yukirin were. Akicha? The original was one of the fastest members to ever be promoted from KKS status, something that Miyuki had always admired. But in the two months that Miyuki had been here, her popularity hadn’t skyrocketed the way that Akicha’s had, so she believed that was out of the question.
Miyuki sighed and put her head in her hands. Who would she succeed when the time came? She knew that she wanted to succeed Jurina…But was her heart ready for that? Did her heart even match Jurina’s? The kirara would decide, of course…But that was the part that Miyuki was worried about. What if they decided she wasn’t fit for Jurina? Even worse, what if…What if what happened to her aunt was destined to happen to her too? What if the kirara decided that her heart matched noone’s, and she eventually graduated as a KKS, just like her aunt?
Worries and dreaming…Miyuki stood up, determined. It didn’t matter what happened from now on. She would continue chasing her dream to top the idol world.
