Miyuchan spots Shizuku!

Shizuku pressed her lips into a thin line. That was certainly a problem. She figured it was only right to help her out. She would further interrogate her, she decided, once they were seated at a table with food in their stomachs. Miyuki seemed to agree, growing animated at the mention of food. Judging from her behavior, Miyuki acted as if she had never eaten the foods aforementioned—Of course, that was absolutely absurd. She didn’t give it another thought.  All emotion was wasted on Shizuku. Indifferent to Miyuki’s enthusiasm, the study bug barely raised an eyebrow. “Of course.” Was her simple reply.

She led Miyuki to a restaurant famous for it’s monja; a place she had discovered from Haru. She paused before entering, the door slightly ajar. A stack of free newspapers sat outside, and she quickly scanned the cover before taking a copy. Father might be interested in this. She then proceeded inside.

They were blasted with the aroma of frying monjayaki; you could hear the sizzles of the grill as the ingredients were slapped on. Shizuku’s stomach growled in protest. She just realized how hungry she was.The two girls were seated at a table, and each handed a menu, which Shizuku subsequently opened, momentarily blocking out the girl before her. Once settled on an order, she placed the menu on the table, finally facing Miyuki. She had a hundred questions ready for her, taking on Miyuki’s predicament as she would a puzzle. It was easier for her to face. Something concrete, that she had control over. She pushed her curiosity aside for now, focusing on her growling stomach instead. “Have you decided on what to order?” Was what she finally settled on, and, “Will you be paying for yourself?”

Miyuki looked around at everything with enthusiasm and unbridled fascination in her eyes. Everything here was new to her - the shops, the people, the clothes, the fashion, the food…It was as though she had landed in an entirely different world from her own. Although she wasn’t at all unused to that, of course - as a 0048 member, she literally traveled the universe in the name of entertainment. But this was different…Probably because this time, she actually jumped through time and space. Into the world of human origin; Earth.

She noticed Shizuku pick up what seemed to be a scrap piece of paper, and almost questioned her before seeing it was a newspaper. Surprisingly, it looked extremely similar to the kind she was used to seeing. ‘Guess there are some things that don’t change after all, huh?'

The moment they stepped into the restaurant, Miyuki was assaulted with a delicious fragrance that she had never smelt before. She blinked and sniffed the air. 'Wha-What is this smell?’ she thought, mouth watering. 'It makes me so hungry!' They sat down at a table, and when Miyuki was handed the menu, she automatically thought of ordering one of everything on it. But then, as only a kenkyuusei…She didn’t exactly make that much money off promotions and stuff. If she was going to be stuck here a while, she needed to spend wisely; even if that meant giving up eating the humongous amounts she normally did. “Uh…Ahh…Why don’t you decide for me? This is my first time eating this kind of stuff, so I’m not exactly sure what’s good or not,” Miyuki said. It was honest, at least; she had never had this 'monja’ thing before. “And yeah, I’ll be paying for myse-” She stopped, remember that this was Earth, not Akibastar. The currency…Would it be different? “Hang on, do they take yen here?” she asked, worried.

Miyuchan spots Shizuku!

takamiyu:

Miyuki wasn’t aware that the laughter emanating from the people around were directed at her - after all, on Akibastar, it was a common sight seeing people dressed up like 0048 members. Little did she know that she was no longer on Akibastar, and over here, she simply looked like a cosplayer standing in the middle of a busy street. Even if she was subconsciously aware that people were laughing at her, her mind rejected the notion - where she came from, people were always nice and kind-hearted, and would never laugh at someone else for looking strange and standing out. Uniqueness was encouraged on Akibastar - not so much over here.

Miyuki pocketed the mic, appraising Shizuku suspiciously as she tried to figure out whether or not she was a DES member in disguise. She kept her finger on the button that would turn the mic into a weapon, although she didn’t press it…for now. The name sounded harmless enough…But all DES soldiers were people picked up from the public. Of course they’d all have normal names as well.

She followed behind Shizuku, still unaware - or completely ignoring - the stares and giggles that were accompanying her. “Shopping district?” Miyuki repeated after her, confused. How is this a shopping district? Miyuki thought to herself, looking at the tiny stores and buildings, some that stood at (only) ten storeys or so. She frowned. It’s completely different from the one on Akibastar…That one covers an entire continent. It was one of the perks of having a planet dedicated almost completely to 0048 - the shopping district was literally a country.

“Ah, I’m Takahashi Miyuki,” Miyuki said, still distracted by all the strange, new sights passing by in front of her. The large electronic boards advertising goods and stuff were…well, tiny by her standards, although some stood as tall as a building. And how come the images don’t change? Miyuki thought to herself. Come to think of it, why is it even mounted? I thought that advertisement boards were all holographic by now…She shook her head, trying to clear it of the confusion. “So where are we going?”

Shizuku was still walking with the same pace she had when she was leading Miyuki away from the crowd. Realizing she had no direction in mind, she began to slow down. Now that they were side by side, Shizuku was able to really look at her. When  Miyuki spoke, she did so with a faraway look, as if she were remembering something else. It was clear her mind wasn’t here, and Shizuku had to pull her away from walking straight into a street lamp.Thankfully the mic was now gone. Shizuku recalled how Miyuki held it in front of her defensively. A mic wouldn’t be too useful as a weapon. Shizuku mused. Miyuki’s outfit was definitely one you didn’t see too often. She stood out like a sore thumb amid the plainly dressed passerby’s. Unfortunately enough, Shizuku caught Miyuki on a weekend—Which means Shizuku looked like an 80-year-old woman. Groan.

Shizuku was finished with her errands, so there really was nothing left for her to do but go home. “So where are we going?” She let the question hang in the air. Why is this girl still following me? She asked herself. Shizuku found herself questioning what led her to helping out this stranger anyway. She had brought her away from the busy streets filled with gawking people. She had answered her question. Her part was done now, wasn’t it? It was true that she said “Let’s talk somewhere else.” But… What was there to talk about?

Confused on what to do, she almost asked, “Don’t you have somewhere to go?” Surely she wasn’t planning on standing around there before Shizuku came? Before she had the chance, her stomach rumbled, signaling it was time for her to eat. She glanced over at Miyuki, then checked her watch. You can’t just abandon her here. Shizuku sighed involuntarily. Why am I acting so strange today? ”Would you…” She hesitated. It’s okay. She reassured herself. It will be a while before the next bus comes. I might as well grab something to eat. She shook her head, started over. “Are you hungry? Let’s have lunch.”

While others were staring at her clothes which made her stand out, Miyuki was staring right back at them. Woah! These clothes are all made of wool or something, right? I don’t think we had woolen stuff or leather in our time…Sheeps and cows went extinct with the Earth. Although her brightly patterned uniform stood out, she hadn’t realised it at all herself - in her mind, it was everyone else who was dressed differently. Ah. She glanced at Shizuku, who didn’t appear to be wearing a school uniform or anything. So…It’s a weekend, I guess? Wait, did they have school back in this time? God, I should’ve paid more attention in history classes…Miyuki hadn’t noticed Shizuku’s ‘grandma’-like fashion sense at all, as she had no idea about the fashions of the twenty first century…But did notice that some of the passing teenage girls were giving her slightly condescending looks.

Miyuki shrugged. “I have no idea. This is my first time around these parts…Actually, I’m not really sure how I got here in the first place.” Her eyes lit up at the mention of food. “Something to eat? Yes! Yes please! Y-you have chicken, right? And beef? And fish?” Chickens, cows, and fish were pretty much extinct in her time - all the meat were from animals that resembled them. Ha! Wait till I get back and I tell the other girls I ate extinct animals! Extinct! I can’t wait to see the looks on their faces! Speaking of eating, Miyuki had a prodigious appetite - among the kenkyuusei, she was the one who ate the most. In fact, her friends even commented that she ate enough for their entire group…By herself. Gotta hold back though here…After all, chickens might be endangered already, right? Can’t eat too many of them…She blinked, worrying needlessly about the extinction of chickens.

Some changes to Miyuki’s character

//outofmiyu: So, thanks to some great critique that I got from Paruru/Tochi-mun, I’ve decided to change some things about Miyuki. Whenever she finds herself in an AU now, she’ll be in her KKS costume like always, but it won’t be able to change, the way I’ve done it so far. The thread that will mostly be affected by this will be the one I have with Taiga, and to a lesser extent, Morie’s and Shizuku’s (though I haven’t introduced that bit into those threads just yet, I don’t think).

The crazy, shape-shifting animals are now GONE from Miyuki’s home. The only thread that will be affected by this is the one I have with Rinne, so @Rinne-mun, if you want me to write a new starter and ditch that old thread which was going off in a crazy tangent, just give me a holla ^^ The big cats stay though. Just cause I like big cats ><

Miyuki’s kirara will be removed from her character, and this affects all the threads I currently have running so I’ll try and do it gracefully.

That’s all for now! Thanks again to Tochi-mun for sending me that great message before regarding these issues, and to everyone else, feel free to tell me if you feel I’m going a bit overboard with my threads…I tend to do that ><

Thanks, Miyuki-mun OUT!

Miyuchan spots Shizuku!

smizutani:

Shizuku eyed the strange girl from a distance, curious, but trying to be discreet about it. Many were openly staring at her. What’s this girl’s problem? She acts like she belongs to another planet. She looked so out of place in the busy intersection with her strange get-up, freaking out at the littlest thing. Even someone at cold-hearted as Shizuku had to feel some pity for her. People weren’t even trying hide their laughter. In a way, Shizuku knew how it felt. To be so detached, having the world inspect you, poke and prod at you, as if you were a disgusting experiment.

Still, it wasn’t enough to provoke her to help her. Is what she thought. She found herself walking towards the girl. “Something’s wrong with me today.“ Shizuku muttered to herself. There was enough distance to turn around, make it look like she wasn’t approaching her. Why am I doing this? Yet, here she was, right behind her. She tapped the girl’s shoulder, and suddenly found herself staring straight into a mic.

Who are you? Are you DES? Where am I?

"W-What?” She stammered, surprised at the sudden outburst. Tsk. This is what you get for trying to be helpful. Now the passer-by’s probably thought she was a weirdo too. It’s not like I care anyway. Shizuku cleared her throat, taking a step back from the mic pointed at her. “Mizutani Shizuku.“ She stated blankly. Looking off to the side, she noticed the many pairs of eyes watching them. "Lets talk somewhere else.” She turned around, not even making sure if the girl was following. Remembering the question she answered, “You’re in the shopping district.“ Not realizing she probably meant something else. She cast a sidelong look at the girl. “I don’t think I got your name?”

Miyuki wasn’t aware that the laughter emanating from the people around were directed at her - after all, on Akibastar, it was a common sight seeing people dressed up like 0048 members. Miyuchan spots Shizuku!

Miyuki cautiously peeked around the corner of the street, poking her head around the wall. She was still dressed up in her kenkyuusei uniform, meaning that she was drawing very strange looks from bypassers. She ignored them all, a little afraid of what was happening. ‘Man, where the hell am I?' she thought, looking up at the sky and not seeing the familiar 'Flying Get’ floating there. The enormous towers of Akibastar were absent too, as well as the weather control system which covered the planet. 'Note to self, don’t get sucked into another black hole,' she thought to herself, muttering. 'Getting separated from 0048 once is enough. Anyway, where the hell am I?’

She peeked around the corner again, and shrieked a little as a car whizzed past. She hadn’t seen a car before - not one with wheels, anyway. She felt a tap on her shoulder, and she whirled around, combat training coming into effect as she pulled out her microphone and held it in front of her like a weapon, drawing even more strange looks from bystanders. “Who are you?” Miyuki demanded, pointing the mic at the girl. “Don’t make me use this! Are you DES? Where am I?”
