Miyuki surveyed the sweatshirt, and tilted her head to one side. “It’s cute, but who’s that funny-looking dude on the front?” Some of the people within earshot gave her shocked looks, their faces clearly showing their surprise that she didn’t know who Elvis was. But it was to be expected; Miyuki had an extensive knowledge of music, but that was from her time. She had never bothered to concentrate on musical icons of the past, and as such only knew of AKB in the current time.

She shrugged and took the sweatshirt, going into the changing rooms to try it on along with a pair of skinny jeans which would’ve showcased her long legs very well. That was one thing she had confidence in, at least. Her freakish height also meant she had extremely long legs..,Even though in her mind, that still didn’t make up for her flat chest. As such, she always resorted to wearing loose-fitting shirts like the one she had picked out before, to bring the emphasis away from her chest and towards her slender form instead.

She put on the sweatshirt and jeans, and took a whirl in front of the mirror, admiring the look. It was different from what she usually wore, that was for sure - but she’d have to trust Taiga on the fashion of the current time. Peeking her head out from the changing room curtain, she called out to Taiga. “Hey! Come check this out and tell me how it looks!”

Taiga felt her grip on the hanger loosen for a moment, as a bewildered expression crossed her face. She doesn’t know the KING of rock?! Taiga shook her head, reminding herself that this was a girl from the future, and the poor people didn’t know about the king. She allowed Miyuki to take the shirt, and she turned her attention to the other articles of clothing as the girl left to try it on.

Running her fingers through the clothes as she past by, Taiga’s eyes scanned her surrounding area. She clicked her heels as she turned when she heard her name being called.

“Coming!” She called back, walking towards the curtains, allowing her hands to run through each clothing she passed. When she arrived, she motioned for Miyuki to exit the changing room.

Miyuki jumped out of the changing room with no hesitation whatsoever, without the usual nervousness that some girls had when showing off a new article of clothing to their friends. Although she didn’t want to act cocky, Miyuki was confident in her ability to look good in anything - her tall, slender build was similar to Shinoda Mariko’s, and besides, she was an idol. If she didn’t have the self-confidence that she’d look cute, the fans would likely feel that.

She twirled around in front of Taiga, grinning. The twirl was more of a dance move than a normal spin, once again attributed to her being an idol; she didn’t notice it herself, but others would have. “How’s it look?” Miyuki asked, cocking her head to one side while glancing at the mirror, admiring her own legs and form. ’Guess this freakish height really does work out…Sometimes.’

palmtopxtaiga:

It seemed as if Taiga had lost Miyuki in her train of thought. The teen shifted slightly, watching as passer Byers seemed to just stare at the dreaming girl. But as if, reading Taigas thoughts, Miyuki snapped back to her sense and darted for the closest clothing market.

As the entered the shop, Taiga spotted multiple amounts of outfits that would of done the girl some justice, but before she could point any out she noticed Miyuki had already grabbed some articles.
“To be honest? You should put those down..” Taiga took the clothes from her hands and placed them away. “There’s no rush. Just find something you like..” Taiga shrugged, holding up an vintage mimicking Elvis sweatshirt.

Miyuki surveyed the sweatshirt, and tilted her head to one side. “It’s cute, but who’s that funny-looking dude on the front?” Some of the people within earshot gave her shocked looks, their faces clearly showing their surprise that she didn’t know who Elvis was. “Because they save humanity!” Miyuki cried, tossing her hands up in the air to the astonishment of some bypassers. She lowered her voice again, furtively glancing at the people giving her weird looks. “Well, that’s a bit exaggerated, but…Well, I’ll tell you about it later, okay? There’s too many people around here.”

At the mention of the concert however, Miyuki almost jumped into Taiga’s arms in joy - something that could’ve ended very badly considering the size and weight difference. She nodded and bobbed up and down like a kid in a toy shop, eyes sparkling.

Taiga jumped slightly as Miyuki cried out her statement. She hadn’t expected for her to have an outburst like that.

“Alright.. Tell me when we head back to my house..” She shrugged, stretching her arms. She couldn’t help but to giggle slightly at the girls reaction to her offer. It was as if she had suddenly changed into a child on Christmas. “Alright alright, we should just figure out the day they come around here..”

“Great!” Miyuki said happily. Maybe getting stuck in this time wasn’t so bad after all…she thought dreamily. Getting to watch the original AKB live…every day…every hour…every minute…She snapped out of her fantasies running wild, and grabbed Taiga’s hand. “Oh yeah, we were shopping! Let’s go!”

She ran towards the nearest clothing shop, once again noticing how small it was compared to the ones on Akibastar. But it would have to do, she guessed…She had to get out of her uniform anyhow. Grabbing the nearest loose-fitting shirt and a pair of jeans, she almost raced up to the counter before she realised that Taiga was the one with the wallet…And probably the one with a better sense of what fashion was like in this time. Miyuki had been bad with fashion already in her time. It was horrendous to think what she’d be like now. “Ah…Any recommendations?”

Miyuki gaped wordlessly for a few more seconds, then finally found her voice again. “A-a-a-poster?! Just a poster?! I-i-it’s a poster of AKB48! The originals!” She looked giddy as she stared at the poster of the girl group. “Ah, I should explain it better!”

She somehow tore herself away from the poster and, with some effort, made her way back to Taiga even though her entire body seemed to pull her back. “I think I described before that the group I come from, AKB0048, is linked to this group in your time, AKB48. But I didn’t say how, I believe.” She lowered her voice to make sure noone else around them could hear, talking out of the corner of her mouth while somehow, her mouth barely moved. “AKB0048 is made up of a group of girls, similar to how AKB48 is. However, we are completely based off them - you could say that we’re the future version of them. It’s not that simple though. In our group, we have special girls called ‘successors’. These girls are the ones who usually shine the brightest as idols, and they’re special trait is that they ‘succeed’ a name of one of the original AKB48 members. To succeed is every member’s dream, but only a select few manage to inherit the names of these girls on that poster.” She breathed a deep breath, eyes glowing. “Do you see where I’m going? Those girls on that poster, they’re not just any idols…They may be to you in this current time, but to us, they’re almost like gods.”

Taiga listened to Miyuki’s story of the AKB48. Taiga had hear the band name before, but never found the time to listen to any of their soundtracks or go to any concerts. Maybe they had one coming around to Oohashi or at least nearby, and they could go see it. It could be seen as  a good deed to Santa and Miyuki.

“Well… Why are they so popular in the future?” Taiga asked, walking over to the poster and examining it. “I bet they’re probably going on a tour around Japan, maybe we could catch a  concert?” Taiga shrugged, looking over the faces on the posters. They don’t look special..

Miyuki giggled and shook her head. “Of course not, of course not! I’m not that stupid, hehe~” She poked her tongue out and promptly almost tripped over, managing to catch herself just in time. She had started noticing now that people were giving her weird looks because of her uniform, but she decided not to comment on it - after all, this wasn’t her time, and she wasn’t one to judge. They passed two teenage girls who whispered to each other, but Miyuki just smiled at them and kept moving on. It was what an idol did - no matter how others viewed you, you had to smile and keep being you.

‘You’ll get haters because of it. But you have to fight through that. Because for every hater out there who doesn’t like you, there’s a hundred fans who wish for you to remain you’. Miyuki smiled as she remembered the words of advice that her aunt had given her.

By now, they had entered what Miyuki assumed was the shopping district - although in her mind, this district was tiny. On Akibastar, the shopping district buildings far towered above even the tallest towers on Earth…And those were the smaller buildings too. Miyuki spotted a poster in a nearby CD shop, and squealed. She ran over to it and stared at it disbelievingly. 'I-i-it’s the original AKB48 members!' she thought, half delirious. She pointed at the poster of the mega-popular idol group, staring at Taiga and gaping but no words coming out.

Taiga tried her best to keep an unamused face as Miyuki made a fool of herself.  But soon after when the on goers had become more noticeable with their stares, Taiga was sure to stare right back at them,  her stare cold enough to make them move on. As hey reached the central of the town, she looked around for a decent shop to start out with, “We can go-” Taiga turned back to look at Miyuki, but had tuned to no one. She heard light footsteps. Her head shot over to the music store, where she saw Miyuki. “What? Its a poster..”

“Ah…I don’t know anything about the fashion of this time though,” Miyuki said, a little worried. “So I’m hoping you can advise me on that!” That much was true - Miyuki had come from a time where the commonly found animals used for making clothes, like leather and wool, were pretty much extinct. As such, she had never seen, much less worn, anything from the 21st century.

Miyuki blinked as Taiga blushed and screamed, and a smirk crept across her smile. Ehehe~ So she’s the pure type, hmm? Miyuki thought to herself mischievously, her prankster mentality kicking in involuntarily. Mmm…I’ll have some fun with her later then! “Nothing, nothing,” Miyuki said, waving it off as though stripping to her underwear in front of another girl was completely normal. It actually was, due to her being in 0048, which meant that the girls all shared a changing room together. “More importantly…Shopping time!” She grabbed Taiga’s arm enthusiastically.

Taiga had to take a moment, trying to gather together that maybe it was normal for their people to change openly like that, that certainly wouldn;t do here. “U-uh.. yeah shopping time.” Taiga nodded, shaking her head as she walked out of the door, slightly pull miyuki alone behind her.

“That whole undressing thing.. Don’t do that outside.. okay?” She mumbled as they exited the complex.

Miyuki giggled and shook her head. “Of course not, of course not! I’m not that stupid, hehe~” She poked her tongue out and promptly almost tripped over, managing to catch herself just in time. “Alright, great!” Miyuki said happily. “To the shops it is~!” She reached into her dress and fumbled around a bit, pulling out a wallet. She hovered her hand over it and a holographic display popped up. She glanced at it for a second, and turned back to Taiga. “I think I’ve got enough money, though I’m not sure what the currency here on Earth is…” She looked down at her ‘wallet’, realising something. “Ah, and you probably don’t have these created yet…And I won’t be able to access my bank account if the bank in question hasn’t even been discovered yet…” Miyuki looked up at Taiga apologetically. “Looks like I’ll be in your debt, Taiga-chan!”

Miyuki blinked, then suddenly started stripping in the middle of the room down to her underwear. She flipped the dress over, and shook it as her phone, her wallet, and the microphone all fell out, as well as a few other odd tidbits that obviously didn’t belong in modern-day Japan. Strangely, the kirara was nowhere to be found. She casually put on the dress again as though nothing had happened, and smiled at Taiga. “Thought I should leave some of this stuff behind if I didn’t want to be pulled aside by the government and questioned or something,” Miyuki said, half teasingly and half serious.

“Shopping?” Taiga hadn’t thought of that idea, but it was simple enough, luckily for her she had all she needed in her purse that she was carrying about when she had bumped into Miyuki. “That sounds fine, I have enough money as it is."

Taiga sat up and grabbed her purse, “Let’s head ou- Ah!” Taiga covered her eyes as the girl started to strip, “W-what are you doing..?!” She shouted, as the girl placed her clothing back on. She peeked through her fingers seeing the girl was now covered.

"Ah…I don’t know anything about the fashion of this time though,” Miyuki said, a little worried. “So I’m hoping you can advise me on that!” That much was true - Miyuki had come from a time where the commonly found animals used for making clothes, like leather and wool, were pretty much extinct. Taiga opened her mouth to tell Miyuk of the odd orb flying about, but just as quickly Miyuki looked up, she looked back down continuing her speech. Taiga forced herself to keep her gaze on the girl, but every moment Miyuki took a  break to breath, Taiga shot her eyes back up to the red kirara.

“Um..” Taiga started, hoping to have Miyuki react fast to catch a glimpse of the creature. She stopped herself as Miyuki got up, ready to head out and examine the new earth. “We can head to a shop and get you new clothes, I don;t think my clothes would fit you..” She shrugged, breaking her gaze from the kirara.

“Alright, great!” Miyuki said happily. “To the shops it is~!” She reached into her dress and fumbled around a bit, pulling out a wallet. Some changes to Miyuki’s character

//outofmiyu: So, thanks to some great critique that I got from Paruru/Tochi-mun, I’ve decided to change some things about Miyuki. Whenever she finds herself in an AU now, she’ll be in her KKS costume like always, but it won’t be able to change, the way I’ve done it so far. The thread that will mostly be affected by this will be the one I have with Taiga, and to a lesser extent, Morie’s and Shizuku’s (though I haven’t introduced that bit into those threads just yet, I don’t think).

The crazy, shape-shifting animals are now GONE from Miyuki’s home. The only thread that will be affected by this is the one I have with Rinne, so @Rinne-mun, if you want me to write a new starter and ditch that old thread which was going off in a crazy tangent, just give me a holla ^^ The big cats stay though. Just cause I like big cats ><

Miyuki’s kirara will be removed from her character, and this affects all the threads I currently have running so I’ll try and do it gracefully.

That’s all for now! Thanks again to Tochi-mun for sending me that great message before regarding these issues, and to everyone else, feel free to tell me if you feel I’m going a bit overboard with my threads…I tend to do that ><

Thanks, Miyuki-mun OUT!

Miyuki laughed and nodded. “Well, it’s quite normal for 0048! I’m pretty sure that every member has one of these. It’s to protect us when we’re in a concert, you see! We’re attacked quite a lot by anti-idol people, so these mics double as an entertainment tool and a self-defence mechanism. Takamina, my senpai in 0048, even has a ribbon she ties her hair up with that can discharge electricity when she’s being attacked! She just throws it at something, it hits them and stuns them, then flies back to her.”

“As for when it’s made, I’m not quite sure myself…I just know that it’s been around for as long as 0048’s been around, but it’s after the time of the current AKB that’s in your world right now,” Miyuki commented. “But the technology is probably already being researched, you guys just haven’t met the final piece of the puzzle yet, which is the kirara!” At the mention of kirara, Miyuki’s kirara hovered out again and landed softly on her head, soft enough that Miyuki didn’t even register that it was there…And then it started making faces at Taiga.

“The kirara follow idols around, but most of 0048 have their own kirara as well, like one that’s specially with them all the time. I’m still just an understudy, so I don’t have one yet, but I hear that they take after the personality of their owners…”

Taiga sat listening to Miyuki’s explanation, it truly fascinated, her., It was as if it  was a plot of some blockbuster sci fi movie. her eyes slowly moved their gaze up to the smaller orb that has travelled back out on to Miyuki’s head. She stared at it for a while a sit started to mock faces at her. A soft chuckle escaped Taiga’s lips, and she slowly raised her hand to point at the Kirara.

Miyuki blinked and looked up, just as the kirara darted out of sight again. “Hmm? What is it?” She seemed genuinely confused, confirming that she had no idea of the kirara’s existence. She shrugged and continued talking, as the kirara hovered out and started making faces again behind Miyuki’s back.

“As I was saying…I’m pretty sure the kirara brought me here for some reason, but I’m not entirely sure how to get back. Perhaps I’m supposed to do something here, in this time? I’m not too sure myself, but I know that I need to power of a kirara to get back…It’s too bad that they work on their own terms and at their own pace. And where am I supposed to find a kirara on Earth anyhow?” She scratched her head, and sighed. “Whatever, I’m here and that means I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actually see what Earth was like before it was destroyed.”

She jumped up off the ground and stretched, then looked down at her clothes. “Err, I might want to change out of these…It seems that this isn’t exactly normal in this time.” She opened her mouth to ask whether Taiga had anything that would fit her, then blinked and shut it again as she remembered the height difference between them. I think it might be inconsiderate to ask that…Miyuki thought to herself sheepishly.
