Some changes to Miyuki’s character

//outofmiyu: So, thanks to some great critique that I got from Paruru/Tochi-mun, I’ve decided to change some things about Miyuki. Whenever she finds herself in an AU now, she’ll be in her KKS costume like always, but it won’t be able to change, the way I’ve done it so far. The thread that will mostly be affected by this will be the one I have with Taiga, and to a lesser extent, Morie’s and Shizuku’s (though I haven’t introduced that bit into those threads just yet, I don’t think).

The crazy, shape-shifting animals are now GONE from Miyuki’s home. The only thread that will be affected by this is the one I have with Rinne, so @Rinne-mun, if you want me to write a new starter and ditch that old thread which was going off in a crazy tangent, just give me a holla ^^ The big cats stay though. Just cause I like big cats ><

Miyuki’s kirara will be removed from her character, and this affects all the threads I currently have running so I’ll try and do it gracefully.

That’s all for now! Thanks again to Tochi-mun for sending me that great message before regarding these issues, and to everyone else, feel free to tell me if you feel I’m going a bit overboard with my threads…I tend to do that ><

Thanks, Miyuki-mun OUT!

“Ah no, Miyuki! Takahashi is my surname!” Miyuki said, not familiar with the way that European names went - after all, Europe had been destroyed along with Earth decades before she was born. And although her school had dealt heavily with Earth history, Miyuki had never concentrated…Physical Education was more along her lines.

However, her eyes lit up at the mention of alchemy. Miyuki had always been interested in throwing things together…And watching it blow up, which probably wasn’t the field of alchemy that Morie was referring to. “Workshop? Sure!“ she said excitedly, unaware of the weird stares she was still getting because she looked so out of place.

Explosions happened sometimes, but not on the level of certain someones like Jess in Mana Khemia. Usually, it was just when Morie was rushed, or the rare occasions common sense left her mind and she trusted Mariel to stir the cauldron for her. image “Oh- well, it’s nice to meet you, then, Miyuki,” Morie said, blinking. “Please, follow me, then- we live on top of the hill.“

"Alrighty, here we go~” Miyuki said cheerfully, following her up the hill while humming ‘10-nen Zakura’, drawing more weird looks from the locals. She started dancing a little as well as she hummed, which not only drew weird looks but whispers as well.

Miyuki, for the record, didn’t take any notice of the weird looks and whispers she was getting. She was busy admiring the scenery around her, all of which looked like it was straight out of a storybook.

“Tiny island village…Village?” Miyuki blinked. ‘So this is one of the more…less advanced planets then. These are supposedly scattered all over the galaxy, with people living on them using technology ranging from ancient times to medieval or early 20th Century,’ Miyuki thought, remembering Tsubasa’s lecture to the new kenkyuusei about the planets they would be landing on. She had warned that there would be some who had never heard of 0048 or DES, and that they would most likely be the ones who hadn’t discovered space travel yet…And she had also warned not to alarm the inhabitants of such planets.

However, Miyuki had also never traveled from Akibastar before, and Galactic History had never been her strong subject. Admittedly, she never had a strong subject - she wasted too much time studying 0048 instead. But if you asked her, that time wasn’t wasted time. It was time well spent.

She looked the girl up and down, frowning slightly. ‘She…actually looks a bit like Tochi,’ Miyuki mused. She shrugged. ‘Must be a coincidence. Now, how do I play this?’

“I’m…Takahashi Miyuki,” she said hesitantly, wondering if it was a good idea to give her real name in this situation. She had considered scrambling around the kanji in her name a bit to Komi Minabashi, but then decided it sounded stupid and went with her real name.

“Takahashi?” Morie repeated, unfamiliar with the name order Miyuki was using. Atelier has generally been pseudo-European in setting, after all, despite the non-European names. “It’s nice to meet you… I think. I’m Morie- I’m the local alchemist here.“ She paused. “Well…. I’m still learning- I’m not very experienced yet- but I’m working very hard everyday to improve,” she explained. Ah, it wasn’t good to stand around here and talk about herself, though, Morie realized; people were still giving Miyuki funny looks… and Mariel had already gone on ahead back to the workshop. “Do you… want to come to my workshop? We can talk more, then,“ Morie offered.

"Ah no, Miyuki! Takahashi is my surname!” Miyuki said, not familiar with the way that European names went - after all, Europe had been destroyed along with Earth decades before she was born. Miyuki sighed. ‘Now, how did I get here?’ she thought to herself in a resigned way, as thought getting lost was a constant thing for her. And it was - with the way the kirara drive worked on the ship, they would sometimes land on planets where they had never been before - and they’d hope like hell that DES had never been there either. A new planet meant exploring, and exploring meant getting lost…For Miyuki, at least. She had somehow ended up on this island, where everyone was giving her weird looks because of her kenkyuusei uniform that she hadn’t bothered to change out of.

She caught someone walking past who looked to be about the same age or slightly younger than her. “Hello, could you tell me where I am?“

It had been a relatively unsuccessful day for collecting ingredients.

Morie had wanted to journey out north to a small mountain village, where it was said a rare flower used in alchemy grew. It was cold and snowy the further up the mountain one got, and so Morie had intended on taking the ferry to the mainland, and visiting the shops in the kingdom for supplies, as well as work on synthesizing items that would help to protect against the cold.

That had gone well enough at first… but then Mariel wanted to go visit Opalia, an alchemist living on the mainland, and what was supposed to be a short visit turned into hours of Mariel mooching baked goods off of Opalia, while Morie could only sigh, realizing that any ingredient gathering wasn’t going to be happening today. Maybe I should take up the princess on her offer to use the workshop in the castle town… she thought, knowing how hard it was to catch the ferry to thr mainland (and then the carriage trip to the castle!) She had so far turned down the offer, knowing that being related to the princess, even if they were distant cousins, could cause whispers among the townspeople of Morie being lazy and using her ‘royal connections’ to get out of doing any work.

Now returning to the island, Morie had been walking with Mariel back to her tiny rundown workshop when someone stopped her. As the island was fairly small, everyone knew each other, and this girl was definitely someone unfamilar.

“You… don’t know where you are?” Morie repeated, blinking; had this girl been shipwrecked and washed ashore? She didn’t really look the part. “This is Île du Destin- we’re a tiny island village.“
