Feeling tired

shinonome-sonata:

Sonata laughed, “Sonata is just too good.” She puffed up proudly. She looked around the arcade to find a new game to play. There were all types of games, ones to fit any personality type. They ranged from shooting to driving and from dancing to luck games.

“Ooh. How about a luck game?” Sonata asked. Luck games usually gave out more tickets if you managed to hit a high score. With more tickets, Jurina could get a prize from the prize counter and maybe they could bring something back for the other girls.

Sonata turned to Jurina, she seemed to be up for it. The was a spinning wheel game close by so Sonata went over to read the instructions;

- hit the button to spin the wheel
- hit the button again to stop the wheel
- the number you land on it the number of tickets you win

“Let’s play this one, Jurina-chan~” Sonata waved at the successor over the crowd.

It was nice to humour the younger girl - Jurina knew that children loved to be praised, and even if Sonata probably disliked being called a child, Jurina couldn’t help seeing her as one. Like a little sister she never had.

‘She lost her father to DES as well…Just like me.’

Suddenly, Jurina felt a surge of affection towards her friend.

She sauntered over to where Sonata was excitedly pointing at the wheel. Already, the regulars were laughing - they had seen Jurina play luck games before, and there was a reason why she stuck with the games that required only skill.

She had terrible luck.

'There has to be some secret to these luck games…' Jurina thought to herself depressingly. At least Sonata was here - if anyone had an abundance of good luck, it was her.

Jurina looked at the wheel, and the numbers on it. They ranged from 1 ticket to 200 tickets; Jurina had only ever gotten a high of 10. She sighed and hit the button, carefully watching the numbers spin by even though she knew it was pointless - from experience, she was aware that the numbers were randomised while they spun. In other words, the ones you saw at the start wouldn’t necessarily be in that order at the end.

She hit the button, and grimaced.

“2 tickets!” The machine chimed.

The crowd was laughing, following the regulars who always came to the arcade to watch her.

“As expected of Jurina!”

She shot them another glare, and moved over for Sonata to take the controls. “Here, you do it. I’m sure you’ll get better than 2!”
