Five strangers entered Oohashi..
Miyuki gaped wordlessly for a few more seconds, then finally found her voice again. “A-a-a-poster?! Just a poster?! I-i-it’s a poster of AKB48! The originals!” She looked giddy as she stared at the poster of the girl group. “Ah, I should explain it better!”
She somehow tore herself away from the poster and, with some effort, made her way back to Taiga even though her entire body seemed to pull her back. “I think I described before that the group I come from, AKB0048, is linked to this group in your time, AKB48. But I didn’t say how, I believe.” She lowered her voice to make sure noone else around them could hear, talking out of the corner of her mouth while somehow, her mouth barely moved. “AKB0048 is made up of a group of girls, similar to how AKB48 is. However, we are completely based off them - you could say that we’re the future version of them. It’s not that simple though. In our group, we have special girls called ‘successors’. These girls are the ones who usually shine the brightest as idols, and they’re special trait is that they ‘succeed’ a name of one of the original AKB48 members. To succeed is every member’s dream, but only a select few manage to inherit the names of these girls on that poster.” She breathed a deep breath, eyes glowing. “Do you see where I’m going? Those girls on that poster, they’re not just any idols…They may be to you in this current time, but to us, they’re almost like gods.”
Taiga listened to Miyuki’s story of the AKB48. Taiga had hear the band name before, but never found the time to listen to any of their soundtracks or go to any concerts. Maybe they had one coming around to Oohashi or at least nearby, and they could go see it. It could be seen as a good deed to Santa and Miyuki.
“Well… Why are they so popular in the future?” Taiga asked, walking over to the poster and examining it. “I bet they’re probably going on a tour around Japan, maybe we could catch a concert?” Taiga shrugged, looking over the faces on the posters. They don’t look special..
“Because they save humanity!” Miyuki cried, tossing her hands up in the air to the astonishment of some bypassers. She lowered her voice again, furtively glancing at the people giving her weird looks. “Well, that’s a bit exaggerated, but…Well, I’ll tell you about it later, okay? There’s too many people around here.”
At the mention of the concert however, Miyuki almost jumped into Taiga’s arms in joy - something that could’ve ended very badly considering the size and weight difference. She nodded and bobbed up and down like a kid in a toy shop, eyes sparkling.
