Five strangers entered Oohashi..
Miyuki giggled and shook her head. “Of course not, of course not! I’m not that stupid, hehe~” She poked her tongue out and promptly almost tripped over, managing to catch herself just in time. She had started noticing now that people were giving her weird looks because of her uniform, but she decided not to comment on it - after all, this wasn’t her time, and she wasn’t one to judge. They passed two teenage girls who whispered to each other, but Miyuki just smiled at them and kept moving on. It was what an idol did - no matter how others viewed you, you had to smile and keep being you.
‘You’ll get haters because of it. But you have to fight through that. Because for every hater out there who doesn’t like you, there’s a hundred fans who wish for you to remain you’. Miyuki smiled as she remembered the words of advice that her aunt had given her.
By now, they had entered what Miyuki assumed was the shopping district - although in her mind, this district was tiny. On Akibastar, the shopping district buildings far towered above even the tallest towers on Earth…And those were the smaller buildings too. Miyuki spotted a poster in a nearby CD shop, and squealed. She ran over to it and stared at it disbelievingly. 'I-i-it’s the original AKB48 members!' she thought, half delirious. She pointed at the poster of the mega-popular idol group, staring at Taiga and gaping but no words coming out.
Taiga tried her best to keep an unamused face as Miyuki made a fool of herself. But soon after when the on goers had become more noticeable with their stares, Taiga was sure to stare right back at them, her stare cold enough to make them move on. As hey reached the central of the town, she looked around for a decent shop to start out with, “We can go-” Taiga turned back to look at Miyuki, but had tuned to no one. She heard light footsteps. Her head shot over to the music store, where she saw Miyuki. “What? Its a poster..”
Miyuki gaped wordlessly for a few more seconds, then finally found her voice again. “A-a-a-poster?! Just a poster?! I-i-it’s a poster of AKB48! The originals!” She looked giddy as she stared at the poster of the girl group. “Ah, I should explain it better!”
She somehow tore herself away from the poster and, with some effort, made her way back to Taiga even though her entire body seemed to pull her back. “I think I described before that the group I come from, AKB0048, is linked to this group in your time, AKB48. But I didn’t say how, I believe.” She lowered her voice to make sure noone else around them could hear, talking out of the corner of her mouth while somehow, her mouth barely moved. “AKB0048 is made up of a group of girls, similar to how AKB48 is. However, we are completely based off them - you could say that we’re the future version of them. It’s not that simple though. In our group, we have special girls called 'successors’. These girls are the ones who usually shine the brightest as idols, and they’re special trait is that they 'succeed’ a name of one of the original AKB48 members. To succeed is every member’s dream, but only a select few manage to inherit the names of these girls on that poster.” She breathed a deep breath, eyes glowing. “Do you see where I’m going? Those girls on that poster, they’re not just any idols…They may be to you in this current time, but to us, they’re almost like gods.”
