Miyuchan spots Chieri!
Miyuki hadn’t noticed she had spoken in third person - she didn’t often do it, but she did lapse back into that childhood habit when she became distressed or emotional. She nodded and tried to wipe the tears away as Chieri mentioned the original Mariko. When Miyuki was younger, she always wanted to be the next Mariko, simply because she loved how the original would strive to achieve, day after day, even though she was the oldest in the group at one point, up until she had graduated. However, as she’d grown older, she’d fallen more and more in love with the original Jurina…Nevertheless, she was shocked that she had forgotten about Mariko’s struggles as an older member. She could draw inspiration from that.
Miyuki sniffed and blinked her eyes, clearing away the tears, and wiped away the last stray one. She smiled at Chieri, almost back to the energetic, bubbly girl she always was. “It was special and amazing, for sure. And it’s the reason I’m here. My dream is to shine bright!“ Miyuki took a step back, a determined, steely look in her eyes replacing the tears. “Brighter than Acchan! Brighter than you! Brighter than anyone ever in the history of AKB! Because if I can do that…If I can do that, if I can shine enough that I can outdo everyone, that I can surpass even the radiance that you and Acchan showed…I think…No, I’m sure that my mum will wake up for good!” She clenched her hand into a fist, grinning now. “So watch out, because Miyuchan is coming for the top!“
"Ohh? Coming for the top, huh?” Chieri smirked slightly, glad the girl was smiling again. “Well, just so you know, I haven’t reached my top yet. I still have to succeed! But even then… Center nova isn’t the end of the road for me - I have the same goal as you: to leave me name in AKB0048’s history book’s as the brightest member!“
As she spoke, her kirara twirled and glowed steadily. Chieri extended a hand to the other kenkyuusei, looking just as determined. “Shall we race each other to the top then?” It was a competition, and a friendly one, but it was still a competition and Chieri didn’t lose to anyone.
“Perfect! The more we shine, the more all of 0048 shines…The more we illuminate the galaxy! I don’t just want my mum to wake up, I want to make everyone smile…and not in the shadows, like people have to do on entertainment ban planets. When people smile at our performances, I want them to be engulfed in our light, our radiance…Everyone, so noone will have to smile in the shadows anymore!” Miyuki said enthusiastically. “We’ll aim to be…no, we’re going to be the generation of 0048 who change the history of entertainment forever!” With the end of her little speech, she was literally glowing so much with excitement, she was almost a human kirara.
Miyuki eagerly took Chieri’s hand, and shook it vigorously. “Of course! You have a head start on me, but I’ll make up that difference in no time!” Miyuki loved healthy competition - in her mind, contests brought out the best in everyone. The determination to win, the will to succeed…It was amazing. Chieri’s determination and will were well documented, and Miyuki was sure she would be a good person to go up against in her quest for the top.
Suddenly, something like a hazy shadow passed over Miyuki’s face, and her expression considerably darkened for a second. She whipped her hand up with lightning speed and swung it at Chieri’s face, then stopped about an inch off. The shadow passed, and she dropped her hand, sighing. “I can’t do it…There’s no way I can blame you for my father’s death, no matter how much I hate DES. You’ve already done too much for me, and you also lost your father…” She hit Chieri’s shoulder lightly instead, her smile back. “Let’s do our best.”
