Miyukin spots Megu!
“What do you mea-” Miyuki began to ask, then realised she was posing as though she had just finished dancing to Oogoe Diamond. “Ah, sorry! I do that all the time! My mind starts to wander in multiple directions, and if it stumbles across the part in my brain that contains 0048, which is most of it, I subconsciously start to dance to whatever song pops into my mind first. I’m hoping that won’t be a problem on stage, if I do get chosen. After all, I don’t want to be dancing to the wrong song,“ she said, poking her tongue out playfully.
"Of course you’re one of my senpais! Ah, but I’m older than you, aren’t I? So isn’t it weird that someone older is calling you senpai? Oh, screw it, I’m just doing it because you’re a part of a previous generation. I really hope you get to succeed someone soon, as well as the others of the 76th generation! Although you’re not the miracle generation like the 77th-” She stopped suddenly as she realized what she was saying. “No, no, sorry! I didn’t mean it that way, it’s just that the 77th were so amazing, producing an Acchan and a Centre Nova, so it just seems like they’ve surpassed yo- No, I don’t mean that! You’re all amazing! I mean that- um, uh, uhh…I’ll shut up now,“ Miyuki said, blushing slightly.
"Ah, the lemonade? I’ve been selling it for six years now! It’s just to support myself as I live alone. The locals are kind enough to buy from me every day, so I have enough money for food and to pay the rent on my house, and sometimes even to buy a new dress or something, but that’s pretty rare.”
Megu smiled and listened to Miyuki ramble on and on about her hyperness and how she was her senpai. “I hope I get to succeed Yukirin-san one day.“
"It’s okay, Miyuki-san! I don’t resent the 77th generation anymore. I’ll work hard so I’ll surpass them one day!” Megu sometimes thought about her and her friends being inferior to the 77th generation. Now, she accepted it and wants to work even harder to surpass them.
“It must be hard to make a living by selling lemonade,” Megu said. She tried to imagine herself selling lemonade everyday, but it seemed unlikely to her to make enough money to live on that alone. “There are dorm rooms so you don’t have to pay the rent anymore,“ she said helpfully.
"I’m sure you will! The current Yukirin is amazing, but I’m sure you’ll make an even more amazing one!” Miyuki exclaimed. It wasn’t just a reassurance either - Miyuki fully believed that Megu could do it, and it showed in her voice. When Miyuki talked about succession, she never joked about it, or said something to reassure someone. It was always completely serious, as was her goal. “I’m going to succeed Jurina! The first to succeed her name! I’m going to be Jurina the 2nd, just you watch!”
“And I’ll work hard alongside you!” Miyuki said cheerfully. “Although I’m positive I’ll surpass them one day! One day, I’m going to be the one who shines the brightest, even more so than Acchan and Chieri!” Once again, she was completely serious and confident in her statement, with no hint of anything in her tone that said she thought it an impossible goal. To her, it wasn’t even a goal. It was a foregone conclusion.
“Ah, yes. The lemonade stand,” Miyuki said, looking back at the stand. “It’s been up for about 10 years now, and I’ve been running it for 6. And hmm, there are dorm rooms, aren’t there…” Miyuki added thoughtfully. “Though with all the travelling and lessons and stuff, I won’t have time to run the stand anymore, which is unfortunate.”
