Kaori nodded towards the girl and sighed in relief, “Thank you so much, Miyuchan! I thought this plan would fail.” she said to the girl, whilst listening to Miyuki, she grabbed the flour bag, “You want to help? Sure! Ah - and it’s okay, I’ll give you the directions. Also, I’m only good at making cookies and cakes ‘cause I’d use to bake with my brother, but that habit faded away years ago…” she looked down, hoping to not let out a tear because back then, she and Ryouichi would bake for their mother, who spontaneously left them.

She had a feeling that the other girl noticed her bitterness, so she looked up and grinned, becoming cheerful again, “I’m almost done on making the dough, how about you help me find the cookie cutters? I want to make them in cute shapes.”

Miyuki noticed the tear, and almost asked about it, but then decided against it. 'Gotta respect her privacy’, Miyuki thought, fighting against her naturally inquisitive nature. 'Looks like a family thing, so she’ll tell me eventually if we become closer friends. Then I can tell her about me too.’

Miyuki nodded eagerly, glad to be given something to do where she could move around again. She twirled around the kitchen, humming 'Beginner’, as usual not noticing at all that she was humming. Rummaging through the cupboards, she spotted a bunch of cookie cutters in the corner of one, and grabbed them…Then almost dropped them almost immediately, clumsy as she was when she was moving around fast like this. She popped back up beside Kaori, placing the cutters beside the other girl on the kitchen bench.

“Here you go!” she said cheerfully, and observed the cookie cutters, her eyes glittering. Miyuki was never the type who could resist cute things, and she almost wanted to eat the cutters themselves. The only thing holding her back was that those cutters would soon be used to make actual cookies, which were edible. Unlike the cutters. “What next?”
