“Hm…I’ve stayed here for almost 2 weeks and I’m probably getting sucked in with all those happy spirits - I like it!” Kaori grinned enthusiastically, “No worries! Your style is really cute. And as for me…gehh - the Hisakawa family always adopt a fashion sense, since we’re ‘known’ for our fashion sense in Ichibastar. Well, I chose goth 'cause it resembles me perfectly…I’m a dark-hearted little girl.” she laughed a bit.

Kaori’s eyes widened as she saw a little tear rolling down Miyuki’s face, but she ignored it anyway, not wanting to get involved in Miyuki’s personal problems, “Eh…ahh - I-I don’t think it’s cute. Ryouichi - Ah, I mean, my brother is one hell of a bastard, though he’s the one who introduced me to 00.” she smiled warmly, seeing the girl all happy and energized again made her feel relieved, “Okay then, is Miyukin-chan alright? Or just Miyukin?” she asked while giggling a bit towards Miyuki’s comment.

“Drums are really nice!! I’d never be able to compose myself while playing the drums, I just can’t balance all those beats and - Eh? What’s wrong?” Kaori asked while waving a hand in front of Miyuki, and the red haired girl soon responded her, “Uhm…y-yes, I am. And no way? Your second aunt was in 00 at that time too?? Though I’m sorry that your aunt didn’t succeed anyone…a-and I’ll be sure to tell my aunt that. Ah - yes! Surpassing my aunt as a Myao successor is all I want, though it’d be an honor to succeed any name besides Myao.” she contained her happiness with just a grin towards Miyuki.

“R-really? You don’t have to do that…really don’t have to.” Kaori wanted to prevent Miyuki’s offer, though if it’s what the red head insisted, she’ll take it, “Ugh, fine, you win!” she crossed her arms and fake-frowned, receiving the handmade lemonade from Miyuki’s hand. She sipped a little of the cold lemonade, it was refreshing and sweet as well, nice for these summer days, “It taste really good! Thanks for the treat~” she said and drank the lemonade all down. She handed the cute little cup back to Miyuki while grinning at the girl.

“Ha, sure you are,” Miyuki said, grinning. “You’re very fashionable, even if you’re dark-hearted. I mean, isn’t it always the villains that have the best fashion sense?”

“Ah, either is fine. I don’t really care what people call me. I mean, the kids around here call me the smelly old lady who sells lemonade on the side of the street. But hmm…Miyuki-chan, huh? Miyuchan! Ah, I like that!” she said happily.

“Well, she never got to that level of radiance required for a successor…but she was just happy being part of 0048! I mean, come on! The chances of being selected out of all those applications is so tiny, then the chance of passing the auditions is even smaller, and being selected as a successor…overall, you could say it’s close to a one in a billion chance,” Miyuki said, puzzling over the math for a while. “And you want to succeed Myao? That’s so cool! Myself, I really want to succeed Jurina! I even made my hair like the originals, except this blonde part here in front.” Miyuki indicated it, frowning a little. “For some reason, it refuses to change colours, no matter how many times I dye it. Weird too, considering I’m a natural redhead.” She shrugged. “Whatever. Now where’s that lemonade?” She rummaged around a bit in the stand, quickly and deftly combining the necessary ingredients to make lemonade, the way her parents had taught her. Remember, Miyuki. The secret to pleasing someone, whether it be through lemonade or your song, is to make it your own, but to also make it theirs. You must cater to their tastes, while being yourself. She handed the lemonade to Kaori, and smiled happily as the other girl appeared to like it. Suddenly, her phone began to ring, at the same time as Kaori’s did. Her eyes widened. “I think it’s time for the second round of auditions, huh?”

Several hours later

“A-ah…what?” Kaori said as she dropped her gun to the ground, a tear rolling down her face. It was overwhelming to her, but she did believe in herself this time and it happened, it actually happened, “Thank you so much, Tsubasa-sama! And congratulations to all of you as well!!“ she said while grinning and crying at the same time, all the girls who have passed jumped around in excitement and happiness. Kaori joined in too, jumping happily. She hugged tightly on one of the members, “Congratulations! Let’s do our best as 78th generation understudies and reach succession!” the turquoise haired girl encouraged, smiling warmly towards the member as well.

Miyuki collapsed on the ground, crying with no shame whatsoever. Mum…dad…I did it. All my fears about being too old, not feminine enough…it didn’t matter. I did it. This is for you. Please watch me chase my dreams. I’m one step closer.

She almost didn’t feel Kaori descending on her and hugging her tightly, with the numbness of the shock of the moment still there. She hugged her back, crying and laughing, not sure what to feel, but knowing that she had finally got here. The starting line. “We did it, Kaori! I’m so glad we got in together! I…I…” Miyuki proved to be capable of no further speech, as a fresh wave of tears overwhelmed her and she just knelt there, wailing at the sky in joy.
