Photo shooting for a new star

Miichan spent nearly two hours thinking about a theme for new member of elder group and caught the quintessence. Jurina was a little boyish like Sae, but less than it was expressed in her. So… she decided to accumulate their powers.

“Jurina the second. Quite interesting. I’ve also been puzzled how it could be and now we have so different generations of successors…”

Jurina got the call from Miichan, asking for her to be in a photoshoot with…Sae? She was a little confused - it tended to be Sayaka who usually went on photoshoots with Sae.

“Ah…Of course I’ll do it!” she said, pushing aside her lingering doubts. Miichan was a great photographer, after all - she knew what she was doing for sure.

Sae was checking her schedule Tsubasa had emailed her and saw a photoshoot lined up, a collaboration. Sae had asked Sayaka, but Sayaka said she had singing lessons that day. Sae called up Miichan to ask who it was with. When she heard of the new sucessor Jurina being with her she was excited.

“I love Sayaka and all, but it’ll be nice to be in photos with someone else. What kind of outfits will we be wearing? I wanna practice some poses, can’t lose to the new successor since the photoshoot is kinda for her purpose.”

-Actually, I have two ideas for you, girls. The first is a couple for song “Aa, subarashiki nyansei”. The second is fighting duo for “Tsupparu Riyuu”. The choice is yours, - Miichan smiled to Jurina and Sae.

Jurina shrugged, somehow nonchalantly hyped-up as always - noone knew how she pulled it off, but she could look both calm and completely energised at the same time.

“I’ll go with whatever Sae-chan picks. She’s the senpai, after all.”

AU - Matsui Jurina, the entertainer

princess-hyuuga:

“Jurina-san, it is a p-pleasure.”

Hearing her name better, the young heiress bowed down to her, her manners making her do it. Standing back up , she looked up at her, and her eyes brighten up, hearing she was an entertainer. Since the young heiress always felt like a a trapped bird in a cage, hearing she was able to travel really interested her.

image

“Do you g-get to go wherever you want?”

“Pleasure to meet you too, Hinata-san,” Jurina said, dropping the formalities a little since the other girl didn’t seem to be too stuck-up about being called ojou-sama or something like other noble daughters did.

“Yeah, I get to go wherever I want, sorta,” Jurina replied a little nonchalantly. “My manager makes up all the travel decisions for me, but I’m pretty much doing a tour around all the villages at the moment.” She smiled. “It’s a tad lonely though, being away from all my friends so much. I come from this little village called Nagoya, and I was in a group there called SKE48 ((//outofjuju: Obvious reference alert)). We performed a lot for the village people, and I was happy with that, but one day a talent scout dropped by and apparently I caught his eye.” She scratched her head, a little embarrassed to be talking about her past to someone she had just met. “He said he’d make me famous enough to be able to tour the world - that was 3 years ago. And now here I am, touring the world. So I guess he kept his promise.” She sighed. “Still lonely though. I miss the other girls all the time.”

That was true - Jurina sorely missed her friends back home, but they had urged her to take this opportunity. ‘Come back home a superstar!' they had said, and she was well on her way to that level. But…

'I wish we had done it as a group,’ she thought, thinking about all the girls still working and performing hard back at home to that small village.

Feeling tired

shinonome-sonata:

Sonata’s jaw would have hit the ground if it was possible. There was no way she would beat that score, she would be surprised if she even got one basket. She wasn’t a very sporty person but the crowd was cheering her on so she had to at least try.

“You can do it, Sonati.”

“Try your best!”

Sonata inserted a coin into the machine and grabbed the first ball. She had to use both hands to throw it, the ball hit the back wall before spinning around the rim and falling off the edge.

Not getting to disappointed yet, she tried again. This time is spun around the rim once again before going through the hoop.

“Sonata got one!” She cheered and picked up another ball. She threw ball after ball, some missing but most just making it in or bouncing off the back before going through the hoop.

The timer was ticking down the last 4 seconds and Sonata threw her last ball. It hit the hoop and bounced straight back towards her.

“Woah!” She managed to catch it before it hit her. The score board flashed 97 points.

You can’t win the all. Something that Kanata had taught her went through her thoughts. Which was true, especially with sports. She threw the ball back over to the hoop so it could be in the game for whoever played the machine next.

She looked over to Jurina. “Do we have time for another game? We could play a fighting game.” Sonata grinned.

Jurina grinned and gestured at the scoreboard just as Sonata turned to her.

“Hey, you hit 100.” It was true - the ball that Sonata had nonchalantly threw up at the last second had gone through the hoop, giving the girl 100 due to the 3 point bonus. “Triple digits on your first go, wow! I might have to watch out!”

She led the bubbling younger girl over to the fighting games corner, where the machines were placed in a familiar order - two rows, with machines facing each other all the way down. The design was universal in arcades, as it allowed for the player to play someone else on the machine opposite them, but not actually see their face. As such, there were rumours of a monstrous player who had never lost a game, always using the same character to steamroll the opposition. Although, it wasn’t really a rumour at this point - most of the regulars at the arcade already knew that it was Jurina.

She motioned at one of the seats, then beckoned for someone in the crowd to come over.

“I don’t think it’d be fair for you to play against me,” she said, smiling apologetically at Sonata. “I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging, but I’m…uhh, kind of really good at this game.”

The audience member who she had pulled out of the crowd laughed at that, and Jurina raised an eyebrow. So he’s a regular than, huh. That should more than enough to pose a challenge for Sonata.

‘She’s new, but don’t underestimate her,“ Jurina said jokingly. "Or you might get your butt kicked like she did to me in the racing game!”

She took the seat next to Sonata, pointing out the controls to her and scrolling through the available characters, highlighting all their basic special moves and their strengths and weaknesses. “Alright, ready when you are, Sonati!”

Miyuki (finally) meets Suzuko!

the77thotaku:

jurinathesecond:

Miyuki glanced at what Suzuko was looking at, and desperately tried to cover it up. “Um, uhh…! The measurement was…Uhh…Off that day!” she said, making something up on the spot, then sighed and gave in. She was a terrible liar. “Okay, I’m 181cm…I just don’t like being so close to 6 feet tall.” She shuddered. “I mean…That’s kind of freak-ish for a girl, isn’t it? Not to mention that Akibastar, being Japanese and all…Well, the average height in my class for girls was around 155-160cm.”

She frowned. “Come to think of it, the average height for the boys was only around 165-170 too…” She blinked and shook her head as she tried to wipe the memories of being half a head taller than almost everyone in her class. “Not to mention that my physician said I might still be growing.” Her face looked pained for a second, as though she was imagining what it would be like if she grew even more.

‘There must be a height limit or something for an idol, right?' she thought miserably to herself. 'I mean, there’s a limit to how cute someone can be when they’re a head taller than you.’

Suzuko listened quietly to Miyuki. When Miyuki began to look pained Suzuko felt worried. Miyuki always seemed to be cheerful.
Makoto had body issues…but Miyuki’s seemed to be rooted in some painful memories, not just self doubt.

“How ever tall you are, Miyuki-san, ” She replied firmly. “There is no reason to feel ashamed of who you are."  And Suzuko meant it. "Everybody has it’s own appeal.”

AKB0048 was full of different girls who were all unique, and Miyuki was one of them. Who knew, perhaps one day she would inspire girls who were too tall to feel happy with their heights.

Right now she doubted Miyuki would belive her if she told her, but she really did believe in that.

“Of-of course…” Miyuki replied, yet still wondering if Suzuko truly understood her. Suzuko was the ideal height for an idol - not too tall, not too short, cute, had breasts that actually created some sort of cleavage, and had a unique personality that any fan would recognise immediately. What did Miyuki have…? The only thing she’d be picked out for would be her height.

But she was an optimist. And optimists didn’t spend time thinking about depressing things like that. If her friend told her it was alright, it would be alright. And besides, if the upbeat, cheerful and always energetic member of the 78th generation appeared depressed, what kind of impression would that give to others?

She relaxed a bit, and smiled at Suzuko, her true, slightly cheeky grin coming through instead of a forced one. “Thanks, Suzuko. This height thing’s really bugged me a lot my entire life, but I feel like that with 0048, I might just be able to fit in. After all, we’re all rather unique.” She laughed as she said that - it was true that they had some rather…special characters, to say the least.

AU - Matsui Jurina, the entertainer

princess-hyuuga:

Still looking at the girl, her eyes showed worried. Even if the young woman in front of her said she was fine, Hinata still felt she might be hurt, but the sudden stand up and soft smile was telling her other wise. Just letting those lilac eyes look over her one more, the young heiress smile returned. What a relief it was to see her fine, worried that she might have really hurt her.

“I-I’m glad you’re ok. S-still, I apologize for not r-really looking where I was going.”

Hearing that she already knew who she was, her blush quickly brightened up. It always made her feel a bit strange when people knew her name already, when she didn’t even know them. Nodding softly, she put on the most polite smile she could, trying to look as ‘high blood’ as possible, her father would call it.

“H-hai, I am. But you c-can just call me Hinata …”

The soft pause was for the girl in front of her to say her name, wanting to also be able to know her, as she already knew her name.

image

As soft-spoken and frail as Hinata looked, Jurina knew not to trust her eyes - this girl was a professionally trained ninja. Not to mention she had the Byakugan. One wrong move and the weak-looking girl in front of her could probably render Jurina unable to move at all in half a second. She had learnt self-defence, of course - it was an essential skill when becoming a famous entertainer. Overzealous fans would sometimes go a little overboard with their physicality, so Jurina had to be ready for that…But she still seriously doubted her own ability to take on a ninja.

“Okay, Hinata,” she said, relaxing a bit as the other girl confirmed her identity. As far as she knew, this Hyuuga wasn’t one she needed to be wary of, and having her met her in person, she could understand the rumours. “I’m Matsui Jurina, and I’m visiting the village as an entertainer. You can just call me Jurina.” She scratched the back of her head, a little embarrassed. She wasn’t surprised that a noble wouldn’t know the name of an entertainer like herself, regardless of how famous she was getting. She performed strictly for the townspeople…The ones that couldn’t pay for high-class entertainment. But still…Maybe she had expected too much, thinking her name had broken through to the higher class now.

On A Jog

seikapan:

jurinathesecond:

Miyuki chuckled at Seika stammering over her words, and patted the younger girl’s head.

“I might’ve had it rough, but I have to overcome it, right? I always thought I could do it by myself, but after getting into 0048, I’ve realised that relying on others isn’t embarrassing or deprecating. Families are there to be relied on, and you guys are my family now.”

She got up and stretched. “Speaking of overcoming things…How long are we going to rest here? We gotta finish our run! Come on, Seika-chan! Overcome your lack of stamina!”

Laughing, she ran ahead, light-headed and a little giddy. It felt good telling her friend about her past, and letting it out instead of keeping it all inside herself all the time. She no longer had to suffer alone. She had 0048 now.

Seika beamed as Miyuki said they were family. Sure, she already thought that, but it was nice to hear the other girl truly believed it. That turned to a quick groan when the older girl made her continue running.

Picking herself up, she ran, following Miyuki. “Hey! Don’t leave me behind!” Laughing, she couldn’t help but think running was the best idea she’d had in a while.

//outofmiyu: And I think that’s a good point to finish the thread off ^^ Next thread I’ll make the starter for when I remember to, and I’ll plot it around talking about Seika’s past instead since this one revolved around Miyuki’s :D

Feeling tired

shinonome-sonata:

“Watch this.” Sonata took a step up to the button.

“Super-lucky-button-hit-attack!” She cheered and hit the button. Maybe she had been watching to many animes lately but the main characters always had attack names that seemed to boost their luck or attack power.

She turned back to the crowd and grinned, sure she was going to get a high score.

23 tickets! The machine called.

“Hahah- what!?” Sonata turned to the machine. The score was flashing 23. The crowd was murmuring around her.

“Is is a tough game to win.”

“The randomness of it is tricky for anyone.”

“She did beat Jurina though.”

Sonata laughed and pulled her tickets from the machine. “Sonata wasn’t lucky this time. Which is your favourite game? We can play that one next.”

Jurina giggled as Sonata shouted a ridiculous phrase while hitting the button, but it was typical of the younger girl from what she had observed, and was one of her cute points. She was a little surprised when Sonata only got 23 though - she was sure that she would get more than that. But that was coming from someone who somehow managed to always defy the odds and get under 5 every time.

She pointed back at the DDR machine, and laughed. "That was my favourite, by a long shot. It’s how I learnt to dance, pretty much.” She glanced around the arcade, the crowd’s eyes following where she went…The regulars were already heading towards a certain machine, knowing what her second most frequently played one was. She spotted it, and grinned.

“There!” She grabbed Sonata hand and waded through the crowd, stopping in front of a machine seen in almost every arcade - a simple game where you threw up basketballs at a hoop, and every one counted as 2 points (or 3, in the last 10 seconds). The time limit was 60 seconds.

“Hey, didn’t Jurina set the high score for this?”

“Idiot, all the top 10 scores are her’s. Noone’s even gotten close.”

“She’s was in her high school’s top basketball team, wasn’t she?”

“That doesn’t matter, her way of playing this is completely different from how she’d shoot a basketball.”

The high score read 253, a ridiculous number for a 60 second game. Jurina flexed her arms, and inserted a coin.

“Watch this,” she said, grinning cheekily.

At an almost unbelievable speed, she grabbed one ball with her left hand and threw it up towards the rim, while grabbing another with her right and doing the same. It definitely wasn’t the conventional method of actually aiming - she was literally scooping them up, two balls at a time, and tossing them up.

And none of them missed.

The timer hit 60 seconds, and Jurina looked up at the scoreboard, panting a little.

197.

“197?! So she threw almost 100 balls in 60 seconds?”

“Ha, and this was an off day!”

Jurina grumbled a little to herself, a tad disappointed, and stepped aside for Sonata to have a go. “Your turn!”

"Keep working hard okay? The year is just beginning and I can tell its going to be fun for you!"
Anonymous

Jurina nodded and pumped her fist, encouraging herself and the fan, then took their hand and shook it. “Of course! Working hard is part of my status quo, as well as having fun! I’ll make sure I give you something to cheer about!”

A man, who appeared to be in his mid-thirties waited in the line to Miyu-.. No, Jurina's booth. He had been one of the first to enter that line, to be able to meet the idol as soon as possible. He felt like it took an eternity to get to the successor, but when he did, he held out his hand. "Jurina! Congratulations on succession! I can't wait to see you rise even higher!" He practically blabbed on, quite nervous. "I've been dying to meet you! Keep up the great work!"
Anonymous

Jurina bowed and took his hand, bobbing her head up and down as the man’s excitement was contagious. “Thank you, thank you! I will, I promise!”
